Format: Campus

Program Description:

The M.D.-Ph.D. Program at the Harvard Medical School (Harvard University) provides selected and highly qualified students the opportunity to combine medical school experience and intensive scientific training in a chosen field. Its purpose is to train scientist-physicians to function independently in conducting both basic research and clinical investigations.M.D.-Ph.D. graduates pursue careers in academic medicine in laboratories and classrooms of medical schools, teaching hospitals and research foundations. This effort is directed towards narrowing the gulf of knowledge and understanding that increasingly separates specialized scientists from colleagues in the medical profession.
