Format: Hybrid

Program Description:

The M. Ed. in Elementary Education prepares educators to be instructional leaders in their schools. Through tailored coursework on child development, curriculum and instruction, assessment and planning, and the use of technology, students gain a data-based approach to help them teach elementary school in Massachusetts. Utilizing the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks built on the Common Core and Next Generation Standards, you will learn how to support children’s academic, social, and emotional needs through evidence-based practice. Our programs also feature extensive field experience to help bridge the gap between research and practice. Throughout your program, you will see a direct link as you study under the guidance of Van Loan’s experienced instructors.

Graduates of Van Loan School’s licensure programs are lead teachers in elementary classrooms, tutors, and growing experts in the field of elementary education. Graduates earn an initial license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Elementary Education (1-6).
