Program Description:

Anna Maria College has educated more than 1,000 social workers with a Bachelor’ s in Social Work degree, being the only provider of social work education in Central Massachusetts. We are now offering a Master of Social Work (MSW) that will be accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).

Our program prepares students for advanced generalist in a variety of areas on interest:

• Administration in Social Work
• School Social Work
• Teen Counseling
• Marriage and Family Counseling
• Medical Social Work
• Psychiatric Social Work
• Child Welfare Services
• Geriatrics
• Hospice
• Crisis Centers

The MSW curriculum is uniquely designed as students take classes while doing concurrent fieldwork which provides them with knowledge and skills necessary to promote social change, development, and empowerment of diverse populations. The MSW program prepares students to seek to promote the welfare of diverse communities, individuals and families, while applying the principles of human rights and social work to help others enhance their well-being and address life changes

Students will be accepted in the Fall of 2017 in a full or part-time program which will run on weeknights and weekends in Paxton, MA.

The MSW program has the following degree options:

• Full time: 62 credits completed in two years
• Part time: 62 credits typically completed in three years
• Advanced Standing: applicants who have a BSW may qualify for advanced placement of 30+ credits completed over three semesters (Fall, Spring, and Summer)
