The Mount's Emerging Leaders Master of Business Administration (ELMBA) is an intensive program designed for aspiring leaders ready to expand their managerial responsibilities, deepen their leadership skills, and broaden their professional networks.
This one-year program is a transformative experience focusing on self-assessment, managerial growth, and leadership development. The curriculum targets key business skills, with an emphasis on practical applications, to ensure that graduates gain effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Students are expected to take time during the week to complete their course work, occasionally completing assignments and projects for one course while starting another. Distinguished faculty teach all courses and provide students with a successful business leader in the field as a mentor for each course.
The program is part-time and designed for the working adult. Classes meet two weekends each month at the Frederick Campus.
Candidates for admission into the ELMBA program must have completed a bachelor’s degree and must satisfy the following criteria:
- Three to five years of work experience clearly demonstrating career growth and leadership potential
- GPA of 3.0 or greater in undergraduate degree program (exceptions considered based on commensurate job achievement)
- An essay on leadership with your application. The essay question is: "In at least 250 words, describe your leadership experience to date, your academic and professional goals, and how applying to the Emerging Leaders MBA program will help you fulfill your needs. Please tell us what you hope to gain and what you believe you will contribute to this experience."
- A letter of recommendation from a senior leader within the applicant’s employer/service organization
