Program Description:

The Loyola MTS degree is a rigorous program designed to give students both a broad exposure to the Christian tradition and a variety of theological specialties and to allow students to explore a topic in depth through the preparation of a thesis. Loyola’s MTS can be excellent preparation for beginning a Ph.D. or it can lead into further work in other fields such as library science, social work, law, or publishing. Loyola’s faculty is internationally recognized for its scholarly excellence. The department includes Catholic and non-Catholic faculty who together nurture a collegial atmosphere. We are a community in which rigorous, lively debate and intellectual generosity flourish.

TOEFL score report. The TOEFL examination is required only if English is not the applicant's native language or if the applicant has not completed a degree program taught in English. TOEFL scores must be from tests administered within two years of the application deadline. Official scores must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service.
