The Master of Music is designed to develop professional and scholarly competence in a wide range of artistic and cultural areas. Five concentration areas are available: performance, conducting, performance pedagogy, music theory and composition, and music education. Curricula are very flexible and may be customized according to each student's interests such as jazz performance and composition, chamber music, specialization in instrument families, media, or accompanying.
In our five concentrations, you'll get an individualized approach to your specific area of interest with opportunities to take courses uniquely suited to your interests. Small class sizes and individual instruction mean you'll get a personalized education that fits your goals and aspirations. Upon graduation you will have a mature understanding of your area as well as a more refined knowledge of analysis and repertoire.
You'll get to work with Grammy-award-winning artists. You'll understand the theory and mechanics of great music, and how to shape your own career. And you'll get to share your love of music with your peers and the community.
We offer the Master of Music with concentrations in Performance (Classical and Jazz), Theory/Composition, Performance Pedagogy, Conducting (Choral and Instrumental), and Music Education.
