Generally, each degree involves at least a one-year program of study and requires full-time academic residence for at least two regular semesters. International students are also required to attend a three-week introduction to American law in August. Part-time study is permitted for attorneys practicing full time in the New Orleans area who wish to pursue the LLM in Admiralty. The LLM in Energy and Environment may be pursued on either a part-time or full-time basis (part-time enrollment is encouraged for this program for US candidates). The General LLM program may be used to survey a variety of areas of law, or to concentrate in such areas as Intellectual Property or Corporate Law.
