Program Description:

The Integrated Programs in Biomedical Sciences (IPIBS) is a gateway for graduate students interested in obtaining a Ph.D. in biomedical research. There is a flexible core-curriculum during their first year along with discipline-based coursework. Students do rotations to choose a research mentor and project for their PhD dissertation research. The University of Louisville offers a supportive academic environment in a friendly, vibrant city and a financial assistance package consisting of an annual stipend of $23,500 health insurance and full tuition coverage. The median time for IPIBS students to complete their degree is 5.1 years compared to the national average for NIH supported biomedical students of 6.3 years.
