Program Description:

The School of Public and Environmental Affairs' (SPEA) Nonprofit Management concentration in the Master of Public Affairs (MPA) program is currently ranked number three in the country by the 2009 U.S. News & World Report. A successful organization -- the kind of organization that can contribute to solving big problems -- requires strong leadership, particularly at the managerial and executive levels. The Public Management concentration gives students the knowledge, skills, and experiences appropriate for management positions in a variety of settings. You'll develop skills in strategic thinking, planning, management, personnel relations, technology, the design, operation and evaluation of successful working systems.
