Master of Arts in Christian Formation and Ministry
The purpose of the M.A. in Christian Formation and Ministry is to develop reflective and compassionate practitioners who can grow individuals into mature disciples of Jesus Christ.
Strong Biblical and Theological Basis
Students develop an integrated understanding of the biblical narrative, biblical interpretations, Christian theology, and church history. They also develop a ministry philosophy, learn critical ministry skills, and deepen their engagement with personal spiritual formation.
Compassionate Ministry Training
This program is relevant to all ministry contexts, providing a solid foundation in biblical and theological reflection, ministry philosophy, practical skills, and personal spiritual formation. Beyond the core courses, students can tailor much of the program to their unique needs and interests, selecting a combination of courses that will best equip them for fruitful ministry.
Deep Understanding of Educational and Spiritual Processes
Students come to understand how they themselves and others are formed educationally and spiritually to better help them in their ministry to grow and nurture the Church. This knowledge is then integrated with theory and creative practice to allow students to teach effectively and handle Scripture wisely.
