Program Description:

The Harris School stands apart from other policy programs in its interdisciplinary and empirically oriented approach to the study of public policy - a characteristic that permeates the School's teaching and research activities. Our flexible programs provide students with extensive preparation in economics, statistics, policy analysis, and organizational theory, as well as training in a substantive field of public policy. Our mission is two-fold: 1) to conduct policy-relevant research adhering to the highest standards of social science and to train talented individuals for professional leadership careers in public policy; and 2) to teach the skills that enable student to research complex policy issues, formulate policy alternatives, and evaluate how policies by governments, agencies, and organizations affect society.

Since 1913, the University of Chicago has been continuously accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association.
