Program Information

Degrees Offered:

Master of Divinity

Format: Campus

Program Description:

We educate students for a life of public ministry: as leaders in congregations and newer forms of gatherings, in chaplaincies, in social service and advocacy, in public policy, in journalism, in education—and in areas we have only begun to imagine. These are leaders who are fully engaged in constructive conversations with their faith traditions, their communities, and their world. The M.Div. program is an intensive cohort-based three-year course of study that prepares students for public religious leadership both in traditional ministerial professions and in new and emerging forms of ministry.

Since 1913, the University of Chicago has been continuously accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association.
