The Path to a better future is right in front of you
Heller College of Business

Schaumburg, IL 60605
The curriculum completes both the behavioral and legal perspectives essential in creating effective organizational Human Resources Policies and Practices.
The Master of Science (MSc) in Human Resource Management degree offers the student a unique mix of courses that create a curriculum that is both flexible and comprehensive.
The program's core set of classes consists of three facets. The first facet addresses behavioral science theories which provide the foundation for the management and structure of today's organizations. The second facet consists of an in-depth understanding of the laws and practices of contemporary Human Resource Management. The core's final facet is the capstone course, HRM 493: Seminar in Human Resource Management. This case and applications-based course provides the student with an opportunity to see how all the individual pieces fit together to create a truly effective corporate Human Resources strategy and operation.
The core courses are complemented with a one credit hour orientation course (BADM 401) and a wide range of electives. These electives include many Human Resource topics, but also go far beyond the traditional by allowing the student to select courses in other business functions, as well as courses in Training and Development, Public Administration, and Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
The complete program is available at both our downtown Chicago Campus and our suburban Schaumburg Campus.
To earn the MSHRM, students must successfully complete 31 semester hours: a one-semester-hour orientation course, six core courses, and four electives. Students with prior course work in human resource management may petition to substitute a more advanced course for a core course with the approval of the program (Master of Science (MSc) in Human Resource Management (M.S.H.R.M)) chair.
