Degrees Offered:

Ph.D. - Applied Mathematics, M.S.- Applied Mathematics

Format: Campus

Program Description:

The Department of Applied Mathematics puts mathematics to work solving problems in science, engineering and society. Applied mathematicians investigate a wide variety of topics, such as how to construct methods for multi-criteria decision making (requiring discrete mathematics and statistics), predicting how financial markets will behave (requiring probability/statistics, analysis and optimization), and understanding how liquids flow around solids (requiring computational methods and analysis). Our programs focus on four areas of modern applied mathematics: applied analysis, computational mathematics, discrete applied mathematics, and stochastics.
