Students may also develop their own area of specialization in another experimental area in which a faculty member has expertise, such as developmental psychology.Research experience is an integral part of the training and begins in the first year under the guidance of an advisor. During their second year, students plan and conduct research toward their MasterÆs thesis, and research for the dissertation is usually conducted during the third year.
