Program Description:

Columbia College Chicago offers two MFA degree programs in Cinema Art + Science designed to be completed in two years. The Creative Producing program’s curriculum focuses on story development, scriptwriting, line-production, business, marketing, and legal strategies. The Cinema Directing program’s curriculum focuses on directing character-driven narratives, and also includes writing, film production, theory, and history. Candidates of the Cinema Art + Science MFA programs will: • Collaborate with other aspiring filmmakers in Columbia’s Creative Producing and Cinema Directing programs • Have access to the Media Production Center, a 35,000 square foot facility including two sound stages, a motion-capture studio, production shop, and animation lab • Pull from the large pool of talented undergraduate actors, cinematographers, sound engineers, editors, post production specialists, and animators to act as cast and crew on film projects • Gain industry exposure through internships, film screenings, and festivals • Creative Producers will spend eight weeks on the Raleigh Studios Hollywood lot networking and gaining real-life experience
