Program Description:

Audiology The Doctor of Audiology program at ISU is committed to delivering a thorough and diverse clinical program with a strong emphasis in Audiologic Rehabilitation including hearing aids, cochlear implants, communication training, information counseling, and the psychosocial aspects of hearing impairment and deafness. The program also provides strong clinical training in the areas of educational audiology, balance function assessment, auditory evoked potentials, auditory processing, and rehabilitation. The course sequence takes the student from introductory level concepts in the first semester through intermediate and advanced concepts and clinical applications in the following semesters. Speech-Language Pathology The Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology at Idaho State University is the only accredited program in the state of Idaho. Dedicated to enriching the lives of those with communication needs, the program has a strong clinical focus which provides graduating students with the tools to work in educational, medical, or other clinical settings with children and/or adults with communicative needs. Sign Language Interpreting The Associate of Science in Sign Language Studies and Bachelor of Science in Educational Interpreting Degrees offered at ISU were developed to advance awareness and meet the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students in educational settings. Increased educational and certification requirements for educational interpreters have created a demand for colleges and universities to offer such diplomas. Upon successful completion of the Sign Language Studies (SLS) program graduates are awarded an Associate of Science Degree and are eligible to apply for the Bachelor of Science Degree in Educational Interpreting (EdInterp). Both of these programs are offered concurrently at the Pocatello and Meridian campuses
