Mercer University’s Tift College of Education is the largest private preparer of professional educators in Georgia. In addition to a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs, Tift’s Educational Leadership Program offers the P-12 School Leadership track for the Ph.D in Educational Leadership degree. The vision and mission of the college is professional preparation of ‘Transforming Practitioners’ in primary, secondary and post-secondary institutions, both public and private. The program begins two cohorts annually each Fall term; one at the Macon campus and one at the Atlanta campus.

- To meet the growing demand for highly prepared academic leaders in Georgia who are consumers of research and whose practices are influenced by that research.
- To provide leaders in higher education with a research-based and applicable skill sets to ensure successful operations of colleges and university programs.
