Ed.S. in Educational Leadership (Education Specialist degree)
The Educational Leadership program is designed to prepare school leaders for formal and informal leadership roles in school administration. The program is also designed to prepare students to take the GACE exam in educational leadership, Georgia’s leadership certification assessment.
The program provides candidates with the opportunity to build their knowledge base and skill level through foundational leadership activities in courses that focus on leadership, human resources, legal and ethical issues, and community relationships, as well as data analysis. Candidates begin the program with a field-based course that begins the process of deep development of leadership capacity, and the program ends with a second internship that provides a venue for leading--not practicing leadership, but leading in real work, in real time, in real settings.
