M.S.- Environmental Science (thesis or non-thesis options)
The Master of Science in Environmental Science (M.S.) program offers an in-depth look at earth and environmental sciences. The program provides students with the opportunity to study modern methods and techniques used by today’s scientists and environmental professionals. Departmental areas of concentration include coastal science, paleoclimatology, landscape ecology, geographic information science, aquatic biogeochemistry, and soils science. Students will find excellent opportunities to explore contemporary environmental issues and participate in scientific research with departmental faculty.
The Environmental Science program includes both thesis and non-thesis tracks. The non-thesis track provides a foundation for employment in the private and public sectors of the environmental fields. In addition, the thesis track prepares students for advanced study leading to the doctoral degree.
The University of West Florida is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association.
