Program Description:

The Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed.) in Mathematics, Science, and Technology in the Elementary Schools (MST-RT) prepares students to assume school-based leadership roles for teaching these subject areas. The MST_RT program emphasizes: (a) upgrading of teachers’ knowledge in mathematics, science, and technology; (b) enhancement of teacher’ instructional skills consistent with national standards; (c) development of teachers’ leadership skills to serve as role models or lead teachers in mathematics, science, and technology.


Teacher Education Programs in the School of Education are approved by the Florida Department of Education. The University of Miami is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools

In addition to eligebility requirements, all applicants who studied outside of the United States must be prepared to submit original transcripts to the University of Miami International Admission office. Applicants may also be required to submit TOEFL scores.
