Program Description:

The post-master's Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner Graduate Certificate prepares nurses who already have received a master's degree in nursing for positions as Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioners. The program is credit hours and includes up to 660 hours of clinical practice. There are 12 credit hours of prerequisite requirements. The post-master's Family Nurse Practitioner Graduate Certificate prepares nurses who already have received a master's degree in nursing for positions as Family Nurse Practitioners. The program is 22 credits hours and includes up to 720 hours of clinical practice. There are 12 credit hours of prerequisite requirements.

.The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) has granted full accreditation of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice degree programs. UCF was one of the first in Florida to obtain CCNE accreditation of a D.N.P. program. The Florida Board of Nursing has approved the bachelor’s degree in nursing program. UCF College of Nursing is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). The AACN, the national voice for baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs, recognizes the B.S.N. degree as the minimum educational requirement for professional nursing practice. Furthermore, all programs are accredited by the Commission on Colleges, Southern Association of Colleges & Schools (SACS).
