MA Creativity Studies

Program Description:

Every improvement in human life is the result of someone’s creativity. Through the Master of Arts major in Creativity Studies distance learning program at Union Institute & University, you will explore creativity from the present all the way back to Ancient Greece.

One of the few graduate programs in creativity studies, Union’s online degree program draws on a variety of disciplines – history, philosophy, psychology, cultural studies, education, business, and the arts. You will examine what creativity is, how it occurs, why some individuals are more creative than others, and what we can do to increase our own creativity. You will also get the opportunity to complete an internship while putting creativity into practical application. Though coursework is completed online, you are encouraged to apply your learning to real-world experience.

The MA major in Creativity Studies can serve as the foundation for doctoral work depending on your area of study. It can also prepare you for a career in the arts or other careers that require a graduate degree, complement an MFA, or simply enhance your life. Our online master’s degree is designed to be flexible and attainable, no matter your current obligations.

The Creativity Studies program benefits:

  • Community college teaching
