The Master of Education in Educational Leadership degree program focuses primarily on theory, knowledge, and clinical experiences in the field, as well as the practical application of that theory and knowledge.
You'll practice a wide range of educational leadership skills while you work on your Master's degree. The program curriculum incorporates various subjects that arise in educational leadership, including data analysis to drive decision making, and the ability to interpret the rules and laws that govern the institution. In groups and individually, you'll also gain experience examining and evaluating ethical issues in today's educational establishments.
You'll also have the option to specialize in K-12 School Administration, with the option for state certification upon graduation. Whether you aim for certification or not, when you graduate you'll have gained the ability to:
- Master state educational leadership standards and competencies
- Understand communication challenges
- Develop, compare and contrast strategies for a variety of situations
- Evaluate the financial status of an institution and guide its growth
- Analyze state, federal and school data to ensure effective improvement planning
