Program Description:

The Management of Technology (MOT) is both an area of practice and an emerging field of education and research. MOT links engineering, science, and management disciplines in a process that starts with identifying a customer's need, and planning, developing or adopting, and implementing appropriate technological capabilities that satisfy the customer-defined need. This program has been developed to educate managers who work or are planning to work in engineering- or science-oriented organizations, have gained other work experiences, and now seek increasing responsibilitiesin positions that will require them to manage technology development, and its implementation and diffusion in industrial and government organizations. In addition to managing the innovation process through R and D, graduates are prepared to manage the introduction and use of technology in products and systems, in manufacturing processes and in other industrial and governmental operating systems.
