The department offers programs of study leading to M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer engineering: VLSIsystem design and architecture, timing analysis and optimization, parallel algorithms, fault-tolerant design, andhigh-level testing and simulation; microelectronics/photonics: physics and technology of semiconductor devices,electronic and photonic materials, heterojunction structures and devices, electron tunneling, quantum device physics, nanoelectronics, and molecular electronics; and systems and information sciences: signal and image processing, computer vision, robot navigation, intelligent sensors, adaptive and learning systems, neural networks, control of flexible structures, and biomedical engineering.
