Whether as a performer of music, dance, or theatre, or as a student in the related fields of music education, composition, music history, music theory, production technology, or arts management, we invite you to consider The Hartt School. We will be delighted to discuss our programs with you.
Hartt's Division of Music Education offers one of the nation's most comprehensive courses of study. Combining the rigors of conservatory training with a solid foundation in music education, the program prepares students for careers as vocal or instrumental music education specialists at the elementary and secondary levels. Music Education majors may, in addition to general music, choral music, wind and string instrumental pedagogy, receive training in such methodologies as Kodály, Suzuki, Gordon's Music Learning Theory, and Orff.
