Program Description:

The reading and language arts consultant certification program is a sixth year degree program designed to prepare educators for reading leadership positions in elementary, middle, and secondary schools. The program prepares the student for the roles of a curriculum and instructional leader, including the following: organizing, supervising, and enhancing literacy programs; coordinating the instruction and assessment of students in reading and language arts; guiding, improving, and enriching reading and language arts instruction in all content areas; and collaborating with teachers, administrators, parents, and other literacy leaders. Courses are offered at the main campus in Bridgeport as well as at UB's Satmford and Waterbury Centers.


The University of Bridgeport is fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
