Counseling, M.S. - College Student Personnel
Format: Campus
COUNSELING, M.S. Combining theory with the human experience, the Master of Science in Counseling at UB offers professional preparation for counseling careers in a multitude of settings. Students share a core counseling curriculum with the remaining coursework related to college student personnel. A hallmark of the program is the supervised field and internship experience, which adds depth and perspective to each students learning experience. There are also opportunities for students to network with alumni who are working in the field. With the help of an academic advisor, students plan an individualized program and can complete the program at a pace suitable for them, be it part-time or full-time. COLLEGE STUDENT PERSONNEL CONCENTRATION The College Student Personnel concentration prepares students for counseling careers in higher education. Graduates find employment in a variety of settings including colleges, universities and technical schools. Many find themselves working in academic departments including admissions, advising, athletics, career planning/placement, financial aid, residential life, student life, student services and university administration. Classes are offered at our beautiful seaside campus in a flexible evening format with some online and weekend opportunities. They are taught by faculty members who are experienced counselors and university scholars adept at teaching adult students.
