Program Description:

The Master of Science in Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology program at Sacred Heart University (SHU) will prepare students to be ethical practitioners of Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Students will be given a research and statistical basis in which they will be able to apply their skills within organizations based on evidence. Students will gain the ability to develop selection processes, trainings and development processes, as well as other key competencies within organizations. The curriculum with enable students to work in diverse, multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environments.

In addition to the required 36 credits of coursework, students will also be required to complete an applied practicum as their capstone. Classes are offered in a unique delivery system of eight-week hybrid courses. Evening courses are offered at our Fairfield campus with online discussion supplementing class meetings. The entire degree can be completed in one calendar year full-time.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants with a BA or BS degree in any field are welcome to apply, although a bachelor’s degree in business or the social sciences is preferred.

International Student Requirements:

Students holding an undergraduate degree from outside the United States must have their academic credentials verified and evaluated by an independent evaluation service. Sacred Heart University accepts course-by-course evaluations from World Education Service (WES). You can review their procedure and complete the necessary application process on the WES website. All international graduate applicants for whom English is not their native language are required to submit an official test score report from one of the following exams: TOEFL, IELTS, MELAB, Pearson PTE or iTEP exam.
