How important is business intelligence to today’s enterprise? Consider that information is competitive intelligence that drives strategic business decisions – that are made by global organizations with the power to change the world. You get the picture.

Information, business intelligence, is no longer the exclusive domain of IT or research departments. That’s why Daniels has created a one-of-a-kind program that takes you across disciplines — data warehousing, marketing, finance and management and operations — so you’ll know how to gather and leverage information to lead organizations, control decisions, and be relied upon to steer enterprises.

Business intelligence is today what data processing was 25 years ago – a rapidly growing field poised at the intersection of intensifying information requirements and
the technologies that support them. In the last fives years, technology has become fluid enough to make true business intelligence a reality. It is now capable of addressing challenges, regulatory compliance issues, performance metrics, business requirements and competitive needs that were impossible to address before.

The Daniels College of Business was one of the first to offer a graduate degree focusing on data warehousing. Now that technology has given us the tools to turn data into true business intelligence, we’re also one of the first graduate schools in the country offering a masters degree in business intelligence. Ours is the only interdisciplinary graduate degree of its kind in the nation.

Students specializing in business intelligence take foundational courses in values-based leadership and sustainable development, core business intelligence courses
and courses from each of the primary disciplines of statistics, marketing and ITEC. It is a one-year, 58 credit hour program.
