Program Description:

The College of Engineering and Applied Science at CU Denver offers the following graduate programs:

The Master of Science provides ample opportunities in state-of–the-art research and professional development in various interdisciplinary areas.​ Research areas of emphasis include: algorithms, automata theory, artificial intelligence, big data management and mining, communication networks, combinatorial geometry, computational geometry, computer architectures, computer graphics, distributed computing, high performance computing, graph theory, Internet, operating systems, parallel processing, simulation and software engineering​.

The graduate certificate in software engineering is a three-course program designed for working professionals or computer science students beginning careers in the fields of software engineering and software development. This certificate requires a previous computer science or systems engineering degree.

The PhD in computer science and information systems offers research training in both computer science and information systems. It is is an interdisciplinary program between the College of Engineering and Applied Science and the CU Denver Business School. The program aims to enhance technology transfer between the university and Front Range technology businesses through joint research, student internships, faculty externships, and committee participation.

The Engineering and Applied Science Doctor of Philosophy program consists of studies in engineering and engineering-related disciplines. It is a multidisciplinary program in keeping with the interdisciplinary nature of modern research.

International Student Requirements:

TOEFL/IELTS: any applicants whose undergraduate language of instruction was not English should have a minimum TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of: 600 for the paper-based test, 250 for the computer-based test, TOEFL iBT: 75, IELTS: 6.5, or successful graduation from CU Denver¹s Language Academy???.
