For the GSSE MBA, each course has been specifically designed to emphasize enterprise solutions to global challenges. Students take core courses in traditional areas such as marketing, management, accounting and finance, as well as cross-disciplinary courses, such as social entrepreneurship, and topical seminars in microfinance and ecological perspectives for business. After two semesters on the Colorado State University campus in Fort Collins, Colorado, students conduct 10-weeks of field work, and then return to campus in the fall to complete the final semester and graduate.
An essential component of your experience in this social enterprise MBA will be a team-based project, including summer field work, most likely in a developing country. From your first semester through graduation, you will be working to develop social enterprises that address real world problems. Some of the project ideas will come from you and your colleagues, while others will come from concepts identified by our GSSE partner organizations.
The College of Business at Colorado State University has held AACSB accreditation since 1970. Accreditation standards are revised by AACSB periodically to make sure that they reflect current business and academic thought and content delivery. The COB at CSU went through the reaccreditation process with AACSB in 2011. At that time, the COB was granted reaccreditation.
