The Master of Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) will prepare you for a career as a therapist in clinics, healthcare centers, schools and private practice. The program focuses on dealing with a spectrum of personal and professional problems facing individuals and families, including relationship difficulties, family dysfunction, parenting issues and behavior problems.
If you complete this specialized professional degree program and fulfill the additional state-mandated requirements, you will be eligible for the State of California’s Marriage and Family Therapy license.
The MFT program will train you to identify and develop strengths within clients to help them overcome serious barriers to their wellbeing and attain their life goals. Our program emphasizes turning the field of mental health upside down, so that the system is fitted to the client, rather than forcing clients to fit into the system.
Distinctive program benefits include:
Comprehensive preparation: Become well versed in best practices through a curriculum that balances research and self-reflection.
Intimate cohort: Develop relationships with classmates as you move through the program in a fixed course sequence and benefit from individualized attention and specialty training opportunities.
