Ph.D. in Industrial & Systems Engineering
USC has choices for students with and without undergraduate ISE degrees. All choices give students the training and education they need within a short period of time. This page gives a brief introduction to USC's ISE Ph.D. program. For more extensive information such as course requirements for the Daniel Epstein Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering's doctorate program, you can download the Ph.D. Handbook (pdf). If you are interested in a Master's Degree, please visit web page for the Epstein ISE Department Master's Program.
The Ph.D. program prepares students for leadership in Industrial and Systems Engineering research and university-level education. In addition to meeting course requirements, students spend one or more years on Ph.D. dissertation research. Departmental policies for the Ph.D. are described in the Ph.D. Handbook (pdf). Additional Graduate School policies for doctoral students serving as Graduate Assistants (Teaching Assistants, Research Assistants, Graduate Fellows, and Assistant Lecturers) are described in the Graduate Assistant Handbook (pdf).
