Program Description:

The McGeorge School of Law Master of Public Administration (MPA), located in Sacramento, California, prepares professionals for successful careers in managing organizations as advocates for change in making and implementing public policies.

With two curricular options, including a 30 unit Executive MPA (EMPA) and a 36 unit MPA, the curriculum provides analytic skills, develops personal competencies required for success and includes an area of specialization as a basis for launching a career (optional for EMPA students) including health care policy and management, water and natural resources, and sustainability. 

University of the Pacific's McGeorge MPA is the only MPA within a law school, rooting understanding of public policy making and implementation in the law, giving special attention to the intersections of policy and law through statutes and regulations.

International Student Requirements:

In addition to the application materials, international applicants must also supply the following information to be considered for admission to Graduate Studies. Transcript Evaluation: International Students who attended schools outside of the United States must submit a WES credential evaluation of their academic records. (see more details) Certification of Finances: Government regulations require that international students provide evidence that they are able to meet the financial requirements of their education, living expenses, and miscellaneous costs. This requires the submission of the ""Certification of Finances"" form in the amount to cover all of the aforementioned costs for one year. Exceptions to this amount are applicants who expect teaching assistantships, who are required to verify US $6,500 to qualify for admission consideration. English Proficiency Examination Results: Applicants whose native language is not English must arrange for official results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination to be sent directly to Graduate Admission. The TOEFL exam is administered by the Educational Testing Service. English proficiency examination results are also accepted from the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The institution code for the University of the Pacific is 4065, which is used to report the official scores to the University. Minimum Score for Admission: On the TOEFL iBT a minimum score of 80 or a score of at least 550 (213 on the computer-based test) is required to be considered for admission. On the IELTS a minimum score of 6.5 is required.
