Program Description:

Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership with Preliminary Administrative Services Credential (45 units) The Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership is also appropriate for individuals who earned their Preliminary Administrative Services Credential by examination and seek to strengthen their knowledge base, and for individuals who do not hold a teaching or pupil personnel credential but want to develop their knowledge of administration and leadership in educational settings in order to pursue careers in private schools or to prepare for doctoral study. This program addresses the California Professional Standards for Educational Leaders. Master of Arts in Educational Leadership (no credential option, 36 units) This stand-alone option for the MA degree in Educational Administration is offered to students who are interested in educational leadership roles but not in obtaining the Preliminary Administrative Services Credential needed for certain public school administrative positions. Preliminary Administrative Services Credential (36 units) This program is the first step for individuals who want to advance their career and become effective educational leaders. Designed to prepare exceptional teachers for leadership roles in public, private, or parochial schools, students receive a well-rounded curriculum delivered in small, personal classes. High quality professors mentor students beginning on day one. Peer-to-peer learning and networking builds the foundation for strong support and diverse perspectives throughout our students' careers. This program addresses the California Professional Standards for Educational Leaders and is accredited by the California Commission of Teacher Credentialing. Clear Administrative Services Credential (14 units) This program provides preparation for current K-12 administrators seeking to clear their preliminary credential. This program provides students with a series of guided and supervised experiences designed to enhance their knowledge, skills, and professional capabilities as administrators. This program is entirely field-based, addresses the California Professional Standards for Educational Leaders, and is designed to provide candidates with practical, job-related experience. This program is accredited by the California Commission of Teacher Credentialing. Certificate in Catholic School Leadership (30 units) This certificate program is the first step for Catholic school teachers who want to advance their career and become effective educational leaders. Designed for credentialed teachers who are working in a Catholic K-12 school, this program is uniquely tailored to provide individuals with a strong foundation in school leadership and administration, but with a Catholic emphasis. Students engage with high quality instructors, including university faculty and administrators in the Catholic school community, who have years of experience working in Catholic schools.
