Program Description:

The world's first Master's Degree in Nonproliferation and Terrorism studies is exclusively offered at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. The programs trains professionals for careers in analysis, prevention and response to terrorist threats and the spread of weapons of mass destruction (WMDs). All admitted students must enter with second language proficiency and must complete advanced foreign language study in that language during their studies in the program. The curriculum is delivered by policy, scientific and technical specialists. There is first-hand practical work experience through the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies or the Monterey Terrorism Research and Education Program. Internship opportunities at organizations like the United Nations and the International Atomic Energy Agency afford students the opportunities to advance their careers as policy practitioners.
