Program Information

Degrees Offered:

Master of Science in Applied Marine and Watershed Science

Format: Campus

Program Description:

The M.S. in Applied Marine and Watershed Science (AMWS*) is an innovative interdisciplinary program offering training in science and technology in the context of environmental policy. We offer both Thesis and Professional Science Masters (PSM) degrees. The thesis option is a traditional M.S. degree that requires students to complete an original work of scholarship. The PSM option is primarily based in coursework and includes a 400-hour professional internship instead of an independent thesis to complete the course of study. For both the Thesis and PSM degree options, students choose an emphasis in applied marine science or applied watershed science. With continuous full-time enrollment, PSM students can reasonably expect to graduate within two years. Thesis research may extend a student’s graduation date beyond two years. * Formerly named Coastal and Watershed Science Policy (CWSP), from 2006-2013.
