Program Description:

The MA in Clinical Psychology program is a professional course of study that prepares students for clinical practice and/or doctoral study, and for licensure in California. It meets or exceeds the requirements established by the State of California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) for academic preparation for licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), and, with additional coursework offered by AULA, as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC.) Students may choose from one or more of six dynamic Specializations offered to obtain in-demand, specialized training. The Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology is designed to meet the following objectives: -Prepare students for MFT or LPCC licensure in California and for doctoral study in psychology -Develop eclectically trained practitioners who are sensitive to issues of diversity, including gender, class, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, and disability -Promote student personal growth and development -Provide practical clinical experience in highly varied, community-based mental health settings -Train mental health professionals to successfully the needs of Southern California’s diverse communities
