Masters Degree in Rabbinic Studies
Founded in 2000, AJRCA is a pluralistic institution dedicated to the training of rabbis, cantors and Jewish chaplains. We have enjoyed tremendous success based in part on our renowned faculty as well as our unique, trans denominational approach to training Jewish spiritual leaders. We welcome interested students all year long and would encourage a visit to AJRCA!
The curriculum of the Rabbinical School successfully melds the conventional and the cutting edge. In-depth, traditional textual studies in Tanakh (Bible), Rabbinics, Liturgy, History, Philosophy, and Hebrew are a major component of the curriculum as is the less common, but much needed emphasis on spirituality and spiritual counseling skills. Reflecting the Academy’s trans denominational philosophy, students study the full range of approaches to Jewish learning, values and practices. Successful completion generally requires five years of full-time study, with part-time study options available. A Master’s thesis is required for ordination.
