Program Description:

The Graduate Certificate in Technology Innovation is a distinctive program intended for working professionals and post-baccalaureate students who are interested in the development, evaluation and implementation of original ideas for existing businesses and new enterprises. The curriculum is designed to teach a specific set of skills necessary to effectively innovate new products and services. Students will learn how to succeed at the following important tasks. * Choose and define problems that are ripe for technological solutions. * Create ideas for solving pressing problems with new or existing technology. * Effectively evaluate ideas so the most promising ones can be identified and selected. * Persuade influential people to support proposals to develop and commercialize new ideas. * Successfully implement solutions in new or existing businesses. The Graduate Certificate in Technology Innovation additionally offers students the opportunity to gain experience at: Creating credibility for themselves and their ideas; hands-on design of a technological solution to a problem the student defines; gaining an understanding of the marriage of business and technology; and learning about the commercialization process.
