Program Description:

The Educational Psychology department offers a Ph.D. program in the following emphases: 1.) Ph.D. in Educational Psychology - Counseling Psychology - This 109-hour program prepares you to function as an applied counseling psychologist, a trainer of other counselors or psychologists and/or as a researcher. This program meets the criteria of the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology and the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards. 2.)Ph.D. in Educational Psychology - School Psychology Emphasis - This 109-hour program prepares you to function as a well-rounded generalist in school psychology, a trainer of other school psychologists, and/or as a researcher. This program is fully approved by National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) through 2018 (first approved in 1998). This program also meets the criteria of the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology and the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards.

The College of Education is a key member of the Professional Education Unit at Northern Arizona University, which is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education. Accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA).
