Enrollment, Attendance, Retention Rates, Graduation
Based on data from Fall 2015i, Grand Canyon University Online has a total graduate enrollment of 26,149 students of which 94% are enrolled in distance education. In the years 2014-2015, 9,000 Bachelor’s degrees, 6,588 Master’s degrees, 74 Doctorate, and 149 Postgraduate Certificates were awarded. Of these Master’s degrees, 866 were granted in Business Administration and Management, 3,059 were granted in Education, and 1,692 were granted in health professions and nursing.

Graduate Admission Requirements
Graduate applicants for most programs at GCU need an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or program that has been approved by Grand Canyon University (GCU), with a 2.8 GPA or higher. If you do not meet the GPA requirement, you may be eligible for admission with a graduate degree from an accredited, GCU-approved college or program and passing test scores of:
- Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT): 500
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE): 1,000 combined verbal/quantitative, prior to August 2011; 300 combined verbal/quantitative, after August 2011
Doctoral Admission Requirements
Grand Canyon University Online welcome doctoral applicants. Acceptance to a doctoral program involves meeting one of the following criteria:
- Candidate has earned a Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution with an overall GPA of 3.4 or higher. Applicants with a GPA less than 3.4 may be accepted with specifications.
- Candidate has earned a Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with an overall GPA of 3.4 or higher. Applicants with a GPA of 3.0 – 3.39 will be accepted with specifications. Applicants with a GPA below a 3.0 will not be accepted.

- GCU offers a special scholarship to qualified veterans and their spouses, and employees of the DOD, DPHS, and NOAA.
- Eligible students may receive Pell Grants and other federal aid (e.g. direct loans)i
- Nursing Concurrent Enrollment Program (NCEP): GCU works with community colleges in the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) to provide students who already have a Bachelor’s degree a more efficient, less costly way to obtain their Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree through the NCEP.
