Neuroscience
Format: Campus
Neuroscience is a theme within Graduate Biomedical Sciences (GBS), an umbrella program of eight PhD themes. The advantage of joining is that students have access to all 350+ faculty within GBS as well as courses from every theme, allowing for an interdisciplinary academic and research experience.
In the Neuroscience theme, students are given intense coursework instruction in the basics of neuroscience and the opportunity to explore the many disciplines in neuroscience through lab rotations. One of our most popular courses takes place at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. At the end of this first year, students will select a permanent lab home and continue his/her Ph.D. career as a neuroscience student.
While in the program, students are provided an annual stipend of $29,000, paid tuition and fees, and single-coverage health insurance.
