Are you a licensed registered nurse interested in advanced practice nursing, but still don’t have your Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree? South University’s RN to Master of Science in Nursing program is designed to bridge that gap, and help you move quickly from registered nurse to your BSN and your advanced practice master’s degree.

Students entering the RN to Master of Science in Nursing degree program (MSN) at South University are able to reduce the number of courses required in the undergraduate component of the program by substituting certain graduate courses. The Registered Nursing master’s program consists of six core courses and courses in an area of specialization. The program includes integrated practical experience, didactic instruction, and a summative project to assess individual student learning outcomes.

Students who successfully complete all requirements of the RN to Master of Science in Nursing program will be awarded both the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BSN) and the Master of Science in Nursing degree (MSN). You may be able to save even more time If you have an associate's degree or diploma in nursing. South University may be able to block transfer all your previous college credits.

Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) education at South University prepares advanced practice nurses for the current and evolving primary health care system. The South University College of Nursing program focuses on advanced health sciences knowledge and skills to prepare advanced clinicians to deliver leading edge, community-based primary health care to individuals and families across the lifespan. The program places a strong emphasis on health promotion as well as the development of positive health behaviors for clients at different developmental and age stages. FNP students share course content with fellow students in the Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) programs where appropriate. This structure exposes students to a variety of expert specialty faculty and supports development of inter-specialty relationships in client management.
