Program Description:

The one year research Masters degree encompasses an eight-month industry-sponsored research project and is backed by training courses designed to ensure that graduates awarded the MRes degree possess the technical knowledge as well as the personal, business and managerial skills needed for future career success in academia, industry and the public sector This full-time MRes degree scheme in Materials Engineering (Power/Aerospace) is supported by the major UK power industries, including Innogy, Airbus, BNFL (Magnox), Cogent and Rolls-Royce. The scheme has shown how an industry-linked Masters degree with a major research component can successfully produce higher degree graduates with the balance of knowledge and skills very much in demand in these hi-tech industries.
