Program Information
Degrees Offered:
MSc Race Car Aerodynamics
Format:
Campus
Program Description:
The theme emphasises the fundamentals of aerodynamics as a subject by focusing on analysis, computation and measurement of turbulent flows associated with high performance race cars. It will suit graduates or similarly qualified individuals from engineering, scientific and mathematical backgrounds, with some experience of fluid dynamics who are aiming for advanced specialisation in aerodynamics.
The taught element of the programme consists of a maximum of 12 modules and is followed by a substantial research project leading to a dissertation. The specific goals are:
To give you an advanced knowledge of aerodynamics;
To give you an understanding of the use, and an appreciation of the limitations, of computational and experimental methods as applied to aerodynamics.
To enable you to acquire advanced knowledge and practical skills needed for a professional career aerodynamics and to provide you with specialist knowledge and skills relevant to that theme.
To enhance your transferable skills, including critical analysis, problem solving, project management, decision making, leadership, and communication by oral, visual and/or written means.
To equip you with specialist knowledge, scientific and technical expertise and research skills for further research and/or application in aerodynamics.
