MSc Business Analytics and Management Sciences
Business Analytics and Management Science (BAMS) involves applying a wide variety of efficient and effective techniques, methods and approaches (from a diverse set of disciplines), for tackling real-life problems in businesses involving complex decision making. Applications of such techniques usually result in improved processes, productivity, and performance with significant implications in cost savings and increased revenues.
This Business Analytics and Management Sciences masters programme, formerly known as MSc Management Sciences, is linked to the MSc in Operational Research offered by the School of Mathematics, in that all the optional courses are shared. The core courses in this programme are designed for students with a quantitative but not necessarily highly mathematical background. The MSc in Management Sciences equips you for a vast range of exciting careers in the public and private sector for numerate graduates.
The dissertation is in the form of a three month project, where you will apply the skills that you have learned to a real-life business problem. A wide choice of projects is available. Most projects involve either a placement within, or else working closely with, a company or other external organisation.
