This programme gives you a unique advantage in the global jobs market. It bridges the gap between general management and marketing to produce managers with marketing skills, and marketers with the potential to progress to senior management level. This 12 month programme is designed for students from any disciplinary background and is approved by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
The first semester focuses on developing your marketing knowledge, with modules including marketing research, consumer behaviour and marketing practice. The second semester looks at strategy and international management and business issues, with a specialist module in Chinese business.
The programme is taught through a combination of lectures, seminars, case studies, group work and web-based discussion groups. The staff who teach on the programme come from a variety of backgrounds and bring their experience of working in organisations to the classroom. We focus on how theories and models can be applied to the real world so that students learn the practical skills they need for their future careers. You will be assessed by exams, group work and individual assignments as well as through your dissertation which gives you the chance to work with a company on a research project.
Students who study the MSc in International Management and Marketing go onto a wide range of careers, both in the UK and abroad. Many graduates work in sales, marketing and general management roles, but the skills gained on the programme mean that a wide range of careers are available to students.
